Our Mission

The mission of the Oakbrook Terrace Police Department is to provide essential services, preserve peace and order, reduce crime and its effect, aid traffic safety, and to protect the constitutional rights of all persons.

The City of Oakbrook Terrace is located in DuPage County, Illinois approximately 17 miles west of Chicago. The City is situated in the heart of the East-West Corporate Corridor, which has been called Illinois’ version of Silicon Valley. The Corridor is home to many principal corporations and large office campuses. Residents live in single-family houses, town homes, and apartments. Spanning the economic spectrum from blue collar to white collar professional, Oakbrook Terrace is proud of it’s reputation of having a small town atmosphere with big city amenities. The police officers work hard to maintain a positive partnership between the residential and commercial community, and responding to their unique needs. Functionally, the Oakbrook Terrace Police Department has 22 sworn and 10 civilian personnel. 911 dispatching is handled by a centralized, independent agency.
